The past 10 years have been a nightmare for retail and other working people who are subjected to automated scheduling. That’s a fancy term for a tool that allows employers to schedule staffing according to predictions of consumer demand with no discussion and often no notice. People in retail and other industries are instructed to select from predetermined options generated by a centralized database.
